This book is about community policing in India. Community policing is not a program or a dedicated individual or a community policing officer or a department called the Community Policing Department – community policing is an organizational philosophy that must be adopted from top down and bottom up. The book ‘Bharat Mein Samudayik Policing’ develops mutual trust between the community and the police which helps in creating a positive attitude towards the police. Police reform is needed to make community policing successful. The Supreme Court of India has also issued guidelines to prevent undue interference from politicians and ensure proper policy directions.
