
Prof. Sura is a Professor of Oral Medicine with over 35 years of academic and clinical experience. She graduated from Baghdad University, ranking third in her cohort, and earned her MSc and PhD in Oral Medicine. She later obtained advanced qualifications in health professions education, including a Master’s degree (FAIMER–CenMEDIC), and internationally recognized MFDS and FDS fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, along with the NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
Prof. Sura has held senior academic leadership roles at Gulf Medical University, is a licensed Oral Medicine Specialist with the UAE Ministry of Health, and currently chairs the MOH Licensing Committee for Oral Medicine. She has published over 60 indexed research articles focusing on potentially malignant disorders, mucocutaneous diseases, orofacial pain, and the management of medically compromised patients, and remains actively engaged in international academic and professional forums.
