Dr. G. Chelladurai

Dr. G. Chelladurai is an Assistant Professor of Zoology at St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. He received his Ph.D. fellowship from the Tamil Nadu Educational Trust (Government of Tamil Nadu) during 2012–2015.He has a strong research background in molluscan culture and conservation biology. His work focuses on the biodiversity of molluscan populations, including endangered and endemic species in the Gulf of Mannar Biosphere Reserve (GOMBR).

He has contributed significantly to marine conservation, particularly gastropods, through sea ranching strategies. Dr. Chelladurai has published 70 research papers in aquaculture, molluscan research, and immunostimulant development. He has authored 8 books with ISBNs and contributed 18 book chapters. He reported two new ectoparasites, Argathona chelladurai and Gnathia sp., and abnormal starfishes (Protoreaster linckii) from the Gulf of Mannar.

He serves as a reviewer and editor for reputed journals and is a member of several scientific organizations. He has received three Young Scientist Awards and secured eight research grants from government and private agencies.
