Bijender Singh Rawat ‘Dagadya’

Bijendra Singh Rawat “Dagadya”, son of Shri Gabar Singh Rawat and the late Smt. Usha Devi Rawat, hails from Danoli village, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. A passionate poet and writer, he has been contributing poems and articles to various Himalayan magazines for many years. His published poetry collections include “Pahad Ka Dard” (2013), “Kalam Likhti Rahi” (2016), and “Zindagi Phir Bhi Muskurayegi” (2021), with “Pravasi Him Shikhar” forthcoming.

He has also edited several souvenir editions for Garhwali organizations and served as Managing Editor of Hilans Darpan, the monthly publication of Uttarakhand Samaj Representative Sabha, Haryana (2014–18). Deeply involved in social and cultural work, he has held key positions such as State General Secretary of Garhwali Representative Sabha (Punjab) and State Coordinator of Uttarakhand Samaj Representative Sabha (Haryana).

Honored with titles like “Garh-Gaurav” (2006), “Uttarakhand-Gaurav” (2012), “Kavya-Shri” (2013), and “Parvat-Gaurav” (2014), he is presently working as Assistant Vice President in a Japanese multinational finance company in Jaipur.
